Ingredients

1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Zest of 1 lemon

Salt and black pepper, to taste

¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prep the Shrimp: Ensure your shrimp are peeled and deveined. Pat them dry with paper towels and season with salt and black pepper.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Allow it to get hot, but not smoking.

Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it.

Cook the Shrimp: Quickly add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle in the red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and start to curl, then flip them over.

Add Zest and Lemon Juice: After flipping the shrimp, add the lemon juice and lemon zest to the skillet. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the shrimp are fully cooked.

Finish and Garnish: Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the fresh parsley and adjust seasoning if needed.

Serve: Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for an extra tangy kick.
