Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare Pumpkin Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice. Mix well until smooth and set aside.
Roll Out Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases. Cut the pastry into strips approximately 1 inch wide and 6 inches long.
Add Filling: Place 1-2 teaspoons of the pumpkin filling on one end of each pastry strip. Be careful not to overfill.
Twist the Pastry: Starting from the end with the filling, carefully twist each strip to create a spiral shape—this will help the filling stay inside while cooking.
Egg Wash: Place the twisted pastry on a parchment-lined air fryer basket. Brush the tops with the beaten egg using a pastry brush, and then sprinkle with granulated sugar for added sweetness and crunch.
Air Fry the Twists: Cook the twists in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up. Depending on your air fryer size, you may need to do this in batches.
Cool and Serve: Carefully remove the pumpkin pie twists from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. They’re delightful served warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
