Ingredients

1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

6 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese

1/2 cup diced cooked bacon (about 4-5 slices)

1/4 cup diced onion

1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) and let it preheat while you prepare the quiche filling.

Prepare the Pie Crust: Roll out the pre-made pie crust and place it in a 7-inch springform pan (or any pan that fits your air fryer). Press it down gently and trim any excess crust hanging over the edges. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling. Lightly spray the crust with non-stick cooking spray.

Cook the Bacon and Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan and drain on paper towels. In the remaining bacon fat, sauté the diced onion until softened and translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.

Mix the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until well combined. Stir in the shredded Gruyère cheese, cooked bacon, sautéed onions, fresh thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is evenly distributed.

Pour the Filling: Carefully pour the egg mixture into the prepared pie crust, ensuring the filling is evenly spread.

Air Fry the Quiche: Place the springform pan in the preheated air fryer basket. Cook for 25-30 minutes, or until the quiche is puffed, set in the center, and lightly golden on top. Check for doneness by inserting a knife in the center; it should come out clean.

Cool and Serve: Once cooked, carefully remove the quiche from the air fryer and let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. This will help the quiche set further. Serve warm or at room temperature, garnished with a sprig of fresh thyme if desired.
