Ingredients

2 large apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

2 tablespoons caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Cooking spray

Instructions

Prep the Apples: Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the apples into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick. Remove any seeds.

Tartness Reduction: In a large bowl, mix the apple slices with lemon juice to prevent browning and enhance flavor.

Flavoring: In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and brown sugar. Sprinkle this mixture over the apple slices, tossing them gently to ensure all the slices are evenly coated.

Air Fryer Setup: Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for about 5 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Arrange the Apple Slices: Place the seasoned apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not overlapping too much for even cooking.

Air Frying: Cook the apple slices in the air fryer at 300°F (150°C) for about 15-20 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through to ensure even crispiness. The apples should be crispy and slightly browned at the edges.

Caramel Drizzle: Once the apple chips are done, remove them from the air fryer and drizzle with caramel sauce while they are still warm.

Add Sea Salt: Immediately sprinkle the sea salt over the caramel-coated apple chips to enhance the flavor.

Cooling: Allow the apple chips to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy them as a snack or topping for salads and desserts!
