Ingredients

4 medium-sized apples (your choice, Granny Smith or Honeycrisp works great)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon brown sugar

100g rolled oats

60g all-purpose flour

80g cold butter, cubed

50g granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Apples: Start by peeling, coring, and slicing the apples into thin wedges. In a large bowl, combine the apple slices with lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar. Toss well to coat and set aside to marinate for about 10 minutes.

Make the Crumble Topping: In a separate mixing bowl, add the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Mix well. Add the cold cubed butter into the mixture. Using your fingers or a pastry cutter, combine the ingredients until they resemble coarse crumbs.

Layer the Apples: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Begin layering your dessert by placing a generous amount of the apple mixture at the bottom of your serving glasses. Aim for about 1/3 of the glass for the apples.

Add the Crumble: Spoon the crumble topping over the apples, filling the glasses almost to the top, leaving a little space for some expansion during baking.

Bake the Crumble: Arrange the filled glasses on a baking sheet to catch any drips and place them in the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the apples are bubbling.

Cool and Serve: Remove the glasses from the oven and allow them to cool for about 10 minutes. Serve warm, topped with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
