Ingredients

2 lbs chicken drumsticks

1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a kick)

Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. This will help the heat circulate around the chicken and keep it crispy.

Prepare the Drumsticks: Rinse the chicken drumsticks under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This helps the skin get crispy during baking.

Make the Marinade: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and optional cayenne pepper. Mix well to form a paste.

Coat the Drumsticks: Add the chicken drumsticks to the bowl and toss them in the marinade, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. For an extra flavor boost, let them marinate for at least an hour in the refrigerator (or overnight for best results).

Arrange on the Rack: Place the marinated drumsticks on the wire rack on the baking sheet, making sure they're spaced out to allow for even cooking.

Bake the Drumsticks: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, take them out and brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over each drumstick.

Broil for Crispiness: Return the drumsticks to the oven and broil on high for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the glaze is bubbly and caramelized. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.

Rest and Serve: Once done, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired before serving.

Enjoy: Serve these delicious drumsticks with coleslaw, corn on the cob, or your favorite side dishes, and prepare for some finger-lickin' goodness!
