Ingredients

2 large sweet potatoes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for extra crispiness)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Dipping sauce of your choice (e.g., garlic aioli, spicy ketchup)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easier cleanup.

Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and peel them if you prefer (the skin is edible and nutritious!). Cut the sweet potatoes into even fries, about 1/4-inch thick, to ensure they cook evenly.

In a large bowl, combine the cut sweet potatoes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, and cornstarch (if using). Toss well until all the fries are evenly coated with the oil and spices.

Spread the fries out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are not overlapping; this will help them become crispy.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even cooking. Keep an eye on them towards the end; they should be golden brown and crisp.

Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. This will help them firm up a bit more.

Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley if desired, along with your favorite dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy your deliciously crispy baked sweet potato fries!
