Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast

1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Pinch of black pepper

Extra melted butter for brushing on top

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and dried oregano.

Combine Mixtures: Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the dry ingredients along with the olive oil. Mix until a dough begins to form.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour as needed.

First Rise: Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare Garlic Herb Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped rosemary, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

Shape the Rolls: Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and transfer it back to the floured surface. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.

Second Rise: Grease a baking dish and place the dough balls close together in the dish. Cover with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until they are puffy.

Preheat Oven: While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake the Rolls: Once the rolls have risen, brush the tops generously with the garlic herb butter mixture. Bake them in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Finishing Touch: Remove the rolls from the oven and brush them again with any remaining garlic herb butter. Let cool slightly before serving.

Serve: Enjoy the buttery garlic herb rolls warm, straight from the oven, as a perfect side to any meal or as a delightful snack!
