Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast

½ tsp sugar

¾ tsp salt

¾ cup warm water (about 110°F)

2 tbsp olive oil

4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Add the olive oil, salt, and 1 cup of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until well combined. Gradually add the remaining flour until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it back to a floured surface. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.

Roll each piece into a long rope (about 8-10 inches long), then tie it into a knot. Place the knots on the prepared baking sheet.

In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.

Brush half of the garlic butter mixture over the knots before baking.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove from the oven and immediately brush with the remaining garlic butter mixture for extra flavor.

Serve warm and enjoy your delicious buttery garlic knots!
