2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

2 cups broccoli florets, steamed (fresh or frozen)

1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup cream of chicken soup (or mushroom soup for a vegetarian twist)

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for browning breadcrumbs)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, steamed broccoli, uncooked rice, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

      Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

        Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the mixture, ensuring an even distribution.

          If using breadcrumbs, mix them with the olive oil in a small bowl to make them a bit crispy. Evenly sprinkle the breadcrumbs on top of the cheese layer.

            Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (to prevent browning too early) and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

              Remove the foil after 25 minutes and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.

                Once done, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. This will help the bake set up nicely.
