Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup brown sugar, packed

¼ cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 tablespoons milk

1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup milk or dark chocolate chips (for coating)

Optional: sea salt for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the all-purpose flour onto a baking sheet in an even layer. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, just until it becomes lightly golden and fragrant. This step will kill any bacteria in the flour, making it safe to eat raw.

Whisk Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the toasted flour, baking soda, and salt. Use a whisk to mix well and set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add Wet Ingredients: Add in the vanilla extract and milk to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until incorporated.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the mini semi-sweet chocolate chips with a spatula until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Chill the Dough: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes or until slightly firm.

Shape Truffles: Once the dough is chilled, scoop out about 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball between your palms. Place the cookie dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Melt Chocolate Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the milk or dark chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and completely melted.

Coat the Truffles: Using a fork, dip each cookie dough ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Garnish (Optional): If desired, sprinkle a light pinch of sea salt on top of each truffle before the chocolate sets.

Chill Again: Place the truffles in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.

Serve and Enjoy: Once the chocolate has set, your Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles are ready to enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
