Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup milk

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

2-3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Optional: 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Prepare the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer.

Mix in Ingredients: Add the eggs and milk, and continue mixing until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Layer the Brown Sugar Mixture: In another bowl, mix the packed brown sugar with 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing it out evenly. Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture over the batter, then drop spoonfuls of the remaining batter on top.

Swirl the Batter: Use a knife or toothpick to swirl the top layer into the brown sugar mixture for a marbled effect. If desired, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Prepare the Glaze: While the bars are baking, make the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add an additional tablespoon of milk if you prefer a thinner consistency.

Cool and Glaze: Once the bars are done baking, allow them to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes. Once cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top.

Slice and Serve: Cut into bars and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your delicious Cinnamon Roll Bliss Bars!
