Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/3 cup melted butter

1 teaspoon baking soda

Pinch of salt

3/4 cup sugar (you can adjust based on preference)

1 large egg, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Optional: 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.

Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until well combined.

Gradually add the flour, stirring gently until just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

If using, fold in the chopped nuts and/or ground cinnamon for an extra layer of flavor.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
