Ingredients

12 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon cream cheese (optional for extra creaminess)

1 tablespoon butter

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water.

Season the Shrimp: In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, making sure they are evenly coated.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Add the seasoned shrimp and sauté for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat.

Add Cheese: Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese and cream cheese (if using) until melted and creamy. Add salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water until you reach desired consistency.

Combine Pasta and Shrimp: Add the cooked fettuccine and sautéed shrimp into the sauce, tossing gently to combine everything and ensure the pasta is fully coated with the creamy sauce.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side for a bright finish.
