Creamy Shrimp Fettuccine

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and pepper, to taste

½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

¼ cup fresh basil, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

Juice of 1 lemon

Cook the Fettuccine: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.

    Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

      Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the cherry tomatoes and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
