Instructions
Preheat the Air Fryer: Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it is ready for the casserole.
Prepare the Green Beans: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Blanch the green beans for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and crisp-tender. Drain and immediately plunge them into an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Drain again and set aside.
Mix the Casserole Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
Combine Ingredients: Add the blanched green beans to the soup mixture and stir to coat evenly. If you’re using cheese, fold in the shredded cheddar cheese at this point.
Prepare the Air Fryer Basket: Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.
Add the Casserole Mixture: Pour the green bean mixture into the air fryer basket and spread it out evenly.
Air Fry the Casserole: Cook for 15 minutes at 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Topping: While the casserole is cooking, mix the crispy fried onions, grated Parmesan cheese, and paprika in a small bowl.
Add the Topping: After 15 minutes, carefully remove the basket and sprinkle the onion mixture on top of the casserole. Return it to the air fryer and cook for an additional 5-8 minutes until the topping is crispy and golden brown.
Serve and Enjoy: Once done, let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy this cozy dish as a side for your favorite holiday or everyday meal!
