Ingredients

1 pint cherry tomatoes

8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)

Fresh basil leaves (about 15-20, depending on preference)

2 tablespoons balsamic glaze

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Skewers (6-inch or 8-inch, bamboo or metal)

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: Wash the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves under running water. Pat them dry with a paper towel. Drain the mozzarella balls and set them aside.

Assemble the Skewers: Take a skewer and slide a cherry tomato onto it, followed by a fresh basil leaf, then a mozzarella ball. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is filled, leaving a little space at the ends for easy handling. Typically, you can fit 3 tomatoes, 3 basil leaves, and 3 mozzarella balls on each skewer.

Drizzle and Season: Once all the skewers are assembled, arrange them neatly on a serving platter. Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze over the skewers evenly.

Add Flavor: Lightly sprinkle salt and black pepper over the skewers to enhance their flavor.

Garnish (Optional): For an extra touch, you can add a few extra basil leaves around the skewers on the platter or scatter some freshly cracked pepper.

Serve: These skewers can be served immediately or chilled in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. They make a perfect appetizer or snack for gatherings or picnics!
