Ingredients

4 whole wheat tortillas

1 cup fig jam

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Cooking spray or butter for grilling

Fresh figs or sliced bananas for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Base: Spread a thin layer of cream cheese over one side of each tortilla. This will act as a creamy base for the filling.

Layer the Jam: On top of the cream cheese, spread about 1/4 cup of fig jam on two of the tortillas. If your kids love a hint of spice, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon over the jam for added flavor.

Add the Cheese: Sprinkle 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the fig jam on each of the two tortillas.

Combine Tortillas: Place the remaining two tortillas (with cream cheese side down) on top of the filled tortillas, creating a quesadilla sandwich.

Heat the Pan: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly spray or butter the surface to prevent sticking.

Grill the Quesadillas: Place one quesadilla in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the tortillas are golden brown and the cheese has melted. Repeat with the second quesadilla.

Slice and Serve: Once grilled, remove the quesadillas from the pan, allow them to cool for a minute, and then slice into wedges.

Garnish (optional): Arrange fresh figs or banana slices on the plate for a fun and fruity presentation.

Enjoy: Serve warm and watch as your kids enjoy this sweet and cheesy treat!
