Ingredients

4 large round sourdough bread loaves

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

8 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)

Assorted fillings (e.g., marinara sauce, alfredo sauce, creamy spinach, or a hearty soup)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Hollow the Bread: Carefully cut the tops off the sourdough loaves and scoop out the insides to create a bowl shape; leave about 1/2 inch of bread around the edges. Set the tops aside for later use (you can make croutons or serve them as dipping bread).

Spread Garlic Butter: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture inside each hollowed-out bread bowl and on the exterior of the tops.

Add Cheese (Optional): If using mozzarella cheese, sprinkle some inside each bread bowl for an extra cheesy experience.

Assemble the Bread Bowls: Place the hollowed bread bowls on a baking sheet. Cover the tops back on each bowl or place them alongside for serving.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15–20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.

Fill with Goodness: Remove the garlic bread bowls from the oven and carefully remove the tops. Fill each bowl with your choice of marinara sauce, creamy soup, or any other filling you desire.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately while warm and enjoy your flavorful, edible garlic bread bowls!
