Ingredients

For the Steak:

1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Noodles:

8 oz (225g) egg noodles or ramen noodles

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon chili paste or sriracha (for a kick)

2 green onions, chopped for garnish

Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, combine the sliced steak with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Cook the Noodles: Meanwhile, prepare the egg noodles by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

Sizzle the Steak: In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated steak and cook until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.

Create Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter. Once melted, add in the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and chili paste or sriracha. Stir to combine the sauce and let it cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Combine Noodles and Steak: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, then return the cooked steak to the skillet. Toss everything together in the garlic butter sauce, ensuring that the noodles and steak are well-coated. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat everything through.

Garnish and Serve: Turn off the heat and remove the skillet from the stove. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro or parsley, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Garlic Butter Steak Lightning Noodles!
