Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

1 cup warm milk (110°F, not too hot)

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar, then sprinkle the yeast over the top. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Make Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, salt, and eggs. Add the yeast mixture once it's active. Gradually add the flour, mixing until the dough comes together. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare Filling: While the dough is rising, mix together the minced garlic, parsley, rosemary, thyme, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese in a small bowl to make the filling.

Roll Out Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Turn it out onto a floured surface and roll it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

Spread Filling: Evenly spread the garlic herb mixture over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

Form Swirls: Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a cylinder. Pinch the seam to seal.

Cut Rolls: Using a sharp knife or dental floss, cut the roll into 12 equal pieces, about 1-1.5 inches thick.

Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, cover with a towel, and allow them to rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake Rolls: Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Brush with melted butter if desired. Enjoy warm with extra garlic herb butter!
