1 medium tomato, diced

1 small jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional for heat)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Avocados: Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl. Use a fork or a potato masher to mash the avocados to your desired level of creaminess (smooth or chunky).

Add Lime: Zest and juice the lime, then add both the zest and the juice to the mashed avocados. Mix well to preserve freshness and prevent browning.

Incorporate Vegetables: Fold in the diced red onion, diced tomato, minced jalapeño (if using), and minced garlic into the avocado mixture. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.

Season: Add the chopped cilantro and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix again gently, tasting to adjust seasoning as needed.

Serve: Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl. For an extra touch, garnish with a sprinkle of lime zest and a few cilantro leaves on top.

Enjoy: Serve immediately with fresh tortilla chips or your favorite dippers. If not serving right away, cover tightly with plastic wrap pressed directly against the guacamole to prevent browning.
