Instructions

Prepare the Sweet Potato Mash:

    - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cubed sweet potatoes and cook for about 15-20 minutes until tender.

      - Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, pepper, and optional cinnamon. Mash until creamy and smooth. Set aside.

        Cook the Turkey Filling:

          - In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic; sauté for 2-3 minutes until onion is translucent.

            - Add ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes.

              - Stir in diced carrots and cook for another 5 minutes. Then add the peas, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

                - Pour in the chicken or turkey broth and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat.

                  Assemble the Shepherd’s Pie:

                    - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

                      - In a baking dish, spread the turkey filling evenly on the bottom. Top with the sweet potato mash, smoothing it out to cover the filling completely.

                        Bake:

                          - Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are bubbling and the top is slightly golden.

                            Serve:

                              - Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Enjoy your comforting and hearty Homestyle Turkey and Sweet Potato Shepherd's Pie! It's perfect for a cozy dinner!
