Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup almond flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup honey

1 large egg

1 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 cup sliced almonds (for topping)

Optional glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, almond flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. Whisk them together until well blended.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the sugar, continuing to mix until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Incorporate Wet Ingredients: Add the honey, milk, egg, and almond extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Blend well until smooth.

Combine Mixtures: Slowly add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix; stop when combined.

Shape the Buns: Use your hands or a spoon to scoop out portions of the dough (about 1/4 cup each) and shape them into round buns. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each bun.

Top with Almonds: Gently press sliced almonds onto the top of each bun for decoration and added texture.

Bake: Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Make the Glaze (optional): While the buns are baking, you can prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl until smooth.

Cool and Glaze: Once the buns are out of the oven, let them cool on a wire rack for about 10 minutes. If desired, drizzle the glaze over the warm buns before serving.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the Honey Almond Tea Buns warm as a delightful accompaniment to your favorite tea or coffee.
