3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup molasses

1 large egg

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons ground ginger

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1/2 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

    Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until fluffy. Add in the molasses and egg, mixing until well combined.

      Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, ground ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
