1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 cup long-grain rice

2 cups beef broth or water

1 large onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 bell peppers (red or yellow), diced

2 tablespoons sweet paprika

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon ground cumin

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, drained

Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Rice: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of beef broth (or water). Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and set aside.

    Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 4-5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

      Brown the Beef: Increase the heat slightly and add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

        Add Vegetables & Spices: Stir in the diced bell peppers along with sweet paprika, smoked paprika, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the peppers are tender.

          Incorporate Tomatoes: Add the drained diced tomatoes to the beef mixture, stirring well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

            Combine: Once everything is cooked, fold in the cooked rice, mixing well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

              Serve & Garnish: Remove from heat, taste, and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve the paprika beef and rice warm, garnished with freshly chopped parsley or cilantro.
