Ingredients

8 large eggs

2 cups milk

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

4 cups cubed day-old bread (preferably sourdough or French bread)

2 cups diced cooked ham

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

1/2 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Combine Ingredients: Add the cubed bread and diced ham to the egg mixture. Gently fold in the cheddar and Swiss cheeses, ensuring the bread is evenly coated with the egg mixture. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the casserole is set in the center and lightly golden on top. You can check for doneness by inserting a knife; it should come out clean.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for about 5-10 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving. Slice into squares and enjoy warm!
