Ingredients

20 large pasta shells

1 pound ground turkey

2 cups fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

3 cups marinara sauce

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Shells: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground turkey. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Spinach and Seasonings: Stir in the minced garlic and chopped spinach. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the spinach wilts. Remove from heat.

Mix the Cheese Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked turkey and spinach mixture, ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Stuff the Shells: Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Start stuffing each pasta shell with the turkey and spinach filling, placing them seam-side up in the baking dish.

Add More Sauce and Cheese: Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Serve: Serve hot and enjoy the delightful mix of savory flavors in your turkey and spinach stuffed shells!
