Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes (with juice)

2 cups fresh or frozen peaches, diced

1 cup red bell pepper, chopped

2 tablespoons chili powder

1 tablespoon cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup beef or vegetable broth

1 tablespoon olive oil

Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Sour cream or Greek yogurt for serving (optional)

Instructions

Brown the Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the ground beef or turkey. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Sauté the Aromatics: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the meat. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.

Prepare the Slow Cooker: Transfer the meat mixture to the slow cooker. Add the drained kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes (with juices), peaches, red bell pepper, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cinnamon, salt, pepper, and the broth.

Combine Ingredients: Stir all the ingredients together until well mixed. Make sure that the spices are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Slow Cook: Cover the slow cooker with the lid and set it to low for about 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. The longer it cooks, the better the flavors will meld together.

Taste and Adjust: Once cooked, taste the chili and adjust seasoning as needed. More chili powder or a pinch of sugar can enhance the sweet and spicy balance.

Serve: Ladle the peach chili into bowls. Top with chopped fresh cilantro and a dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt if desired. Serve warm with crusty bread or over rice.
