Ingredients

2 ripe mangoes, diced

1 large avocado, diced

1 small red onion, finely chopped

1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced (adjust for heat preference)

1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Juice of 2 limes

1 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 small garlic clove, minced (optional)

Tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by dicing the mangoes and avocado into small cubes. Make sure to remove the skin and pit of the mangoes first. Finely chop the red onion and jalapeño, ensuring you remove the seeds from the jalapeño to control the spice level. If you’d like more kick, feel free to leave some seeds in!

Mix the Salsa: In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced mango, avocado, red onion, minced jalapeño, and chopped cilantro. Gently toss everything together to avoid mashing the avocado.

Season the Salsa: Squeeze the juice of 2 fresh limes over the mixture. Sprinkle in the sea salt, ground cumin, black pepper, and minced garlic if you’re using it. Gently fold the mixture again to distribute the seasonings without breaking apart the avocado too much.

Taste and Adjust: Give your salsa a taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You can add a bit more lime juice for acidity, salt for flavor, or extra jalapeño for more spice.

Chill Out: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the salsa to an airtight container. Allow it to sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will let the flavors meld together beautifully.

Serve: Once chilled, serve your spicy mango avocado salsa alongside crunchy tortilla chips or as a vibrant topping for grilled meats, tacos, or fish.
