One of the standout features of Fiery Sriracha Turkey Meatballs is the health-conscious choice of ingredients. Ground turkey is a lean protein that is lower in fat compared to ground beef or pork. This makes it an excellent option for those looking to reduce their caloric intake while still enjoying a hearty meal. In fact, ground turkey typically contains about 10-20% fat, depending on whether it is made from light or dark meat, whereas ground beef can contain upwards of 30% fat. Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

3 tablespoons Sriracha sauce (plus more for serving)

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Olive oil (for frying)

Optional garnish: sliced green onions and additional cilantro

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped cilantro, minced garlic, egg, Sriracha, soy sauce, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Using your hands, mix all the ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil.

While the skillet heats up, shape the turkey mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs, placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate.

Once the skillet is hot, add the meatballs in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. You may need to cook them in batches.

Cook the meatballs for about 6-8 minutes on one side until browned, then carefully turn them to brown the other sides. Cook for an additional 6-8 minutes until cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).

Once cooked, you can drizzle additional Sriracha over the meatballs for extra heat and flavor.

Serve the spicy turkey meatballs warm, garnished with sliced green onions and cilantro if desired. They can be enjoyed on their own, in a lettuce wrap, or over rice for a complete meal.
