Ingredients

1 large head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets

1/2 cup cornstarch

1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

3 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Cauliflower: In a large bowl, toss the cauliflower florets with cornstarch until evenly coated. This will create a nice, crispy texture when fried.

Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering (about 350°F/175°C). You can test if the oil is ready by dropping in a small piece of cauliflower - it should sizzle upon contact.

Fry the Cauliflower: Carefully add the coated cauliflower florets to the hot oil in batches. Fry them for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the cauliflower and drain on paper towels. Repeat until all the cauliflower is fried.

Make the Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until the mixture starts to simmer and slightly thickens (about 3-4 minutes).

Coat the Cauliflower: In a large mixing bowl, toss the fried cauliflower with the honey garlic sauce until evenly coated.

Serve: Transfer the sticky honey garlic cauliflower to a serving plate. Garnish with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

Enjoy: Serve hot as an appetizer, side dish, or even a main course, and watch it disappear!
