Ingredients

2 large flour tortillas

1 medium apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tbsp butter (for cooking)

Honey or maple syrup (for drizzling, optional)

Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Spread half of the cream cheese mixture evenly over one side of each tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.

Layer the sliced apples on one of the cream cheese-coated tortillas. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts (if using) and top with the shredded mozzarella cheese.

Carefully place the other tortilla, cream cheese side down, on top of the apples and cheese, creating a quesadilla.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt and coat the pan.

Once the butter is melted and bubbling, carefully place the quesadilla in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side or until golden brown and crispy.

Using a spatula, gently flip the quesadilla over and cook the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes, pressing down slightly to ensure even cooking.

Once both sides are golden brown, remove the quesadilla from the skillet and let it sit for a minute. This will help it set.

Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the quesadilla into triangles.

Serve warm, drizzled with honey or maple syrup and dusted with powdered sugar, if desired.
