2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a hint of heat)

1/4 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts), toasted

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In a large mixing bowl, combine the trimmed and halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Create the Glaze: In a separate bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Combine and Coat: Pour the maple glaze over the Brussels sprouts in the large mixing bowl, and toss until all the sprouts are well coated.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Roast: Roast in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, tossing halfway through, until the Brussels sprouts are tender and caramelized.

Add Nuts: In the last 5 minutes of roasting, sprinkle the chopped pecans over the Brussels sprouts to toast them slightly.

Serve: Remove from the oven, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving hot.
