Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup bread crumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 egg

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

1 cup Greek yogurt

1 small cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp chopped fresh dill (or 1/2 tsp dried dill)

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix the Meatball Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, chopped onion, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, but be careful not to overmix.

Form the Meatballs: Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs approximately 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out evenly.

Bake the Meatballs: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.

Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth. Adjust seasoning as needed.

Serve: Once the meatballs are ready, serve them warm with a generous dollop of the tzatziki sauce on the side. They can be served as an appetizer, a main dish with rice or pita bread, or incorporated into a fresh salad.
